With any update of German Soil Mapping Guidelines (Bodenkundliche Kartieranleitung, KA) data encoding and soil classification are modified. BGR develops in close cooperation with the State Geological Surveys of Germany translation tools. These are local MS Access applications.
A tool for deriving soil names according to the World Reference Base for Soil Resources 2015 and 2007 (WRB) has been developed as well.
