Since 2009, the BGR has supported the DRC in strengthening control in the mining sector in the framework of the German development cooperation program. For many years, BGR support has focused on the artisanal and small-scale mining sector and the associated supply chains. Starting 07/2021, the BGR will implement a new project that supports local partners in evaluating questions related to the sustainability and control of the industrial and artisanal mining sector. In terms of mineral commodities, the project focuses on copper, cobalt, gold, tin and tantalum. Technical reports and other updates on past and future project implementation are shown on this website.
