Satellite Image of Northern Namibia with Investigation Area Oshivelo

The central part of the image shows the west-east oriented border line between Namibia and Angola. The Etoscha Pan constitutes the deepest point and an endorheic basin of the Cuvelai catchment. In previous times the Kunene River (discharge approx. 5 MCM/a) probably discharged into the Etosha Pan. Clearly recognizable are the longitudinal dunes in the central and northern part of the project area (blue line). Source: BGR
