Satellite Image of Northeastern Namibia with Location of Investigation Area Eastern Caprivi
The Linyanti-Gomare fault stretches in a direction of approximately 50° from the Eiseb-Graben in the west to the east of the Zambezi River. Clearly visible in the upper central part of the image is the previous course of the Kwando River, which in previous times reached the Zambezi River some 150 km north of Katima Mulilo. By uplift processes to the east of the Zambezi the Kwando River was shifted to the west.
