The area marked with a light-blue transparent hatching indicates the main aquifer at the northern margin of the Eiseb Graben. It probably constitutes a deeply downlifted block which was consequently filled by Kalahari sediments with a thickness of more than 400 m (paleo-channel). Sediments become more coarse with increasing depth. The chances for groundwater exploitation outside the graben area are slim.
