World Water Forum
Every three years since 1997, the World Water Forum mobilises creativity, innovation, competence and know-how in favour of water. It gathers all stakeholders around today’s local, regional and global issues that cannot be undertaken without all stakeholders into a common framework of goals and concrete targets to reach.
5th World Water Forum in Istanbul, 16.-22.03.2009
Groundwater is the most precious resource. Increased population growth and climate change make the provision of water even more significant. This message was also shared by the 5th World Water Forum in March 2009 in Istanbul, in which BGR held several presentations.
6th World Water Forum in Marseille, 12.-17.03.2012
The goal of the 6th World Water Forum was to tackle the challenges our world is facing and to bring water high on all political agendas. There will be no sustainable development while the water issues remain unsolved. The BGR launched the new WHYMAP, where surface water catchment areas were correlated with groundwater resources.
