Since its launch in 2007, the sector project has supported and organised various events. Below some selected examples:

• BGR and German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) Joint conference „The Raw Material Strategies of the G20“, Berlin, 26 February 2013

• Support to the joint OGMR-ICGLR conference “Mineral Certification an Supply Chain Due Diligence in Rwanda and the Great Lakes Region”, 17-18 March 2011 in Kigali

  Support to the annual Communities and Small-Scale Mining (CASM) conferences (until 2010)

• Support to the Annual Meetings of the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development
• Organisation of the conference "Geological Resources and Good Governance in Central Africa", panel on "Artisanal Mining - Asset or Burden for Sustainable Development", 24-25 September 2009 in Yaoundé, Cameroon
• Support to the Conference International Conference: Transparency in the Extractive Sector (PDF, 720 KB), 14. December 2007 in Berlin
